The owner of this house was looking for a wow factor for the central staircase. The stairs are a pivotal part of this Muskoka lakeside cottage and so it was important to make them appealing and be a focal point.

The builder proposed using granite from Northern Rock Ltd. in Gravenhurst because of its strength and beautiful colouring. The steps are not fully supported and therefore need to have enough strength to withstand pressures applied to the top and edges.

The end result was stunning including the nosing around the staircase opening that ties it all together.
